Since opening our doors to patients back in 2010, Bethany Primary Care has been dedicated to providing compassionate, patient-centered healthcare to the Bethany Beach community. We are committed to delivering high-quality medical care with a focus on prevention, wellness, and personalized treatment. Whether you need primary care, obesity medicine, or psychiatry services, our experienced team is here to help you achieve your best health.
Welcome To Our Practice
At Bethany Primary Care, your wellbeing is our number one priority. We strive to serve our community by by providing compassionate, high-quality healthcare, with specialized services in obesity medicine, primary care, and psychiatry. Our providers also manage a wide range of health conditions including diabetes, hypertension, COPD, thyroid disease, and behavioral health concerns. We also provide annual wellness visits and physicals.
We welcome patients ages 17 and older and are currently accepting new patients. We accept Medicare, Delaware Medicaid, and most commercial insurance plans. Same-day and next-day appointments are often available.

ABOUT US
Rajshekar Narasimaiah, MD
Dr. Rajshekar Narasimaiah, known to his patients as Dr. Raj, is an experienced and compassionate primary care physician who has been caring for patients in the community since 2006.
Dr. Raj earned his medical degree in India and completed his residency training at the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. He is board-certified in Internal Medicine, a Fellow of the American College of Physicians (FACP), and board-certified by the American Board of Obesity Medicine (ABOM).
Dr. Raj is affiliated with Beebe Medical Center in Lewes, Delaware, and is proud to serve patients throughout the local community.
Dr. Raj is accepting new patients and looks forward to being part of your healthcare journey.
Shashikala Venkatachalapathy, MD Psychiatrist
Dr. Shashikala Venkatachalapathy, everyone knows her as Dr. Pathy, graduated from India and completed her residency training at Drexel University Medical College in Philadelphia, PA.
Dr. Pathy is board certified by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology. She has been practicing Psychiatry since 2006. Accepting New Patients.

Karen Mather, NP
Karen Mather graduated from Walden University with her MSN, and is board certified by the AACN in ACNPC-AG (Acute Care Nurse Practitioner Certified - Adult Gerontology). She brings over 30 years of experience to Bethany Primary Care.
Karen began her career as an EMT. She continues to be certified and nationally registered as a paramedic. She then continued on to become a board certified as a CEN as well as a CPEN which lead her to working as ER nurse. Now as a certified Nurse Practitioner along with her experience and expertise in the medical field Karen is a valued part of the Bethany Primary Care team. Accepting New Patients.

Our office encourages you to bring your prescription bottles with you to all appointments. Doing so saves time, effort and helps our office to provide you with the absolute best of health care.

Prescriptions can be requested at your appointment, via phone, or directly from your pharmacy.

Prescriptions may be written or electronically sent to your local pharmacy. When leaving a message for a prescription refill, include your name (with spelling), date of birth, phone number, prescription name (with spelling), dosage, the name of your pharmacy and the city it is located in. Indicate whether you need a 30 day or 90 day supply. Our office will contact you, by phone, ONLY if there is a problem with your request.
